If I Could Ask God Anything: Awesome Bible Answers for Curious Kids by Kathryn Slattery

Summary from Thomas Nelson: If I Could Ask God Anything is a unique kid-friendly book jam-packed with clear, fresh answers to important questions about God, faith, prayer, and Christianity in language that children can understand.

This book was very cool. It answered a lot of good questions that a lot of people even adults would want to know the answer to. It was funny too. It answered funny questions like why people carry certain memory verses to football games. The question I liked the best was was Jesus's birthday really december 25th (the answer was it may or may not have been. So His birthday could be today, tomorrow, in a week, in a month, or in a year. No one knows when His birthday really was. I wonder why nobody back then wrote it down.)

I personally wouldn't have picked up this book and read it on my own time for no reason. I think little kids would like to read it but definetly not people my age (10-11). The book was great but not a lot of kids my age are curious about this stuff. I think there are only a few who would pick this book up either. I am not trying to be mean or anything, I am just being honest. The simple thing I am saying here is I thought the book was okay for adults and kids. If you are wanting a pleasure reading book though you need to pick up a different book.

The book was provided by the publisher as a review copy.

Why Smart Guys Go First

I figured out the secret for cartoon and comic books. I was thinking about a comic book after I read it, (Spider-Man loves Mary Jane), and I was wondering why when there is a bad guy and people are taken captive the genius of the group - who usually figures things out first - is taken first. This happens because if the criminals didn't get the genius guy first then the group would figure out the bad guy's identity and turn them in to the police so there would be no story. The genius guy may still end up captive, but the police will know who the criminal is and rescue the genius guy.

I think that this means that super smart people are more likely to either be captured and / or die or become bad guys.

About ArieltopiA

Hi! I'm Ariel and I made Arieltopia because I wanted to tell my friends and family (and people I do not know) what I am doing at home and the recent books I have read. I also wanted to tell everyone at one time instead of repeating the same thing a million different times.

I love reading and writing and I wanted a way to share books I have read with others and tell them a little bit about the book and make it interesting. Then maybe if they liked my review they will read the book and tell others about it and maybe they will read it too. I also wanted a way to share my stories that I have written in various note books with the world without having to get my book published. I have heard that trying to get your book published is very frustrating, especially when you are only ten like me. If you are only ten or something, then you have to convince them it is not like a little kid rainbow pony story that only has one or two syllable words in it.

I like having this blog spot because it is also fun sharing my thoughts with others. It is also a good enough excuse to go on the computer according to my dad. Good excuses for going on the computer that will pass with my dad are extremely and totally rare. I hope you share the joy of typing things on the computer! (And reading and writing :) Bye!

The Secret of Indigo Moon by G.P. Taylor

This book is about Erik Granger and the Dopple girls, Saskia and Sadie. Erik is the only boy at Dunstan's a school for orphans. He is supposed to go go to sleep but defiantly stays up and stumbles upon burglars in a secret passage stealing special artifacts from Lord Gervez's house, which is next door to Dunstan's. In the morning as he serves breakfast to the girls he tells Sadie and Sakia about the burglars and informs them that the burglars are returning again that night to get the last of the artifacts. The Dopples and Erik sneak out after lights-out and watch the burglars. They hide but Saskia was too slow and didn't know that the burglars were coming back down the tunnel and has to hide inside a sarcophagus that the burglars were stealing. The burglars do not know that Saskia is in it and they take the sarcophagus to their lair. Sadie and Erik follow Lord Gervez into his home through the tunnel and find out that someone named Indigo Moon made all the houses and connected them with tunnels that only he knew about. The tunnels were being used to rob all the homes on that street. A reporter for the Times (and secret detective) Dorcas Potts interviewed the gang the afternoon the day Saskia was kidnapped. Now the gang needs to work together to find Saskia and stop the burglars.

I liked this book because it had segments of the book in comic book and it looked cool because it helped you imagine what the characters in the book looked liked and what was going on in the book. Like when it did not tell you what type of car or school uniform it showed you in the comic book segments. I also liked the mystery part and adventure parts of the book because I like books that have a mix of thrill and a mysterious side. I think you will like the book.
